Materials: real grizzly bear claw, 84 sterling silver, natural turquoise stone.
This type of amulets were used broadly in the beginning of the 20th century. Number 84 in silver hallmarking meant that the alloy contained 84 parts of pure silver and 12 parts of copper impurity. This ratio of components endowed 84 sterling silver with a natural shine and white tone, providing an unsurpassed appearance to the products created from it.
Interesting that the lady’s profile was initially turned to the left. However, due to the use of counterfeits in 1908, the mark was noticeably more complicated, and the profile turned to the right. Now rounded letters appeared in the brand, which which was related to the production of this product.
On the left side of the product is the master’s hallmarking.
